Modern Slavery Statement – Eddroo

Financial Year Ending: September 2024

This statement is made in accordance with Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Eddroo has taken, and is continuing to take, to ensure modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains.

1. About Eddroo

Eddroo is a UK-based consultancy business providing professional services across areas such as sustainability, procurement, and operational improvement. Eddroo is owned and operated by Mark Hodgkinson.

While Eddroo’s size and structure mean we are not legally required to publish a modern slavery statement, we voluntarily do so to reflect our values and our commitment to ethical and responsible business practices.

2. Our Commitment

Eddroo is committed to:

  • Operating with integrity, transparency, and fairness.
  • Ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or any part of our supply chain.
  • Using our influence to encourage ethical practices among those we work with.

3. Our Supply Chain

As a small consultancy, Eddroo has a limited and low-risk supply chain. This primarily consists of:

  • Professional service providers (e.g., legal, accounting, digital tools and software).
  • Travel and accommodation providers.
  • Office and IT suppliers.

We do not manufacture goods or source materials from high-risk industries or geographies. However, we remain vigilant and committed to understanding and addressing potential risks where relevant.

4. Due Diligence and Risk Management

While our risk exposure is minimal, we take the following steps to reduce the risk of modern slavery:

  • We review the ethical policies and modern slavery statements of key suppliers      where available.
  • We prefer to work with suppliers who share our values on ethical labour practices.
  • We include a consideration of modern slavery risks in any supplier engagement      processes for future business relationships.

5. Training and Awareness

As the sole employee of Eddroo, I keep informed on modern slavery risks through industry guidance and updates. If Eddroo were to grow, we would ensure that all future employees and associates receive training on recognising and responding to modern slavery risks.

6. Future Actions

Over the next 12 months, Eddroo will:

  • Continue to review and update our due diligence processes in line with best practice.
  • Support clients in identifying and addressing modern slavery risks in their own      operations and supply chains where applicable.
  • Explore ways to increase awareness and influence responsible sourcing in the wider      business community.
